En el marc del programa Erasmus+ Higher Education Mobility Agreement, i del projecte SWaTH “Sustainable Wastewater Treatment for Hospitals / SWaTH”, el proper dijous 7 d’abril de 12 a 13 hores tindrà lloc el webinar “Waste Treatment And Disposal Methods” a càrrec del Dr. Henri El Zakhem de la Universitat de Balamand (Líban).
El webinar es una activitat enmarcada en la visita que el Henri El Zakhem està realitzant a l'EPS com a membre del Projecte “Sustainable Wastewater Treatment for Hospitals / SWaTH” SWaTH, Erasmus + KA2 Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices – Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education, del qual la Universitat de Lleida és un dels socis europeus.

El professor Henri EL ZAKHEM és el fundador del Departament d'Enginyeria Química de la Universitat de Balamand (UOB).
El Prof. EL ZAKHEM va completar el seu doctorat en Enginyeria Química en 2,5 anys a la Universitat de Tecnologia de Compiègne (Aliança Universitària de la Sorbona), França (2006). Va obtenir un Màster (D.E.A) en Enginyeria de Processament d'Aliments (2003), i d'altra banda, i perquè li agrada la multidisciplinarietat, posseeix un Diploma de Magisteri en Psicologia Clínica per la Universitat Libanesa (2002).
Sota el seu lideratge, UOB va llançar el primer programa d'enginyeria química i del petroli al Líban. El Prof. EL ZAKHEM va col·laborar en el disseny de l'edifici Maroun Semaan, que incloïa 10 laboratoris acadèmics i de recerca d'última generació complementant els programes educatius: BS, BE i MS. A més, va preparar i presentar l'expedient d'acreditació del programa d'Enginyeria Química de la Universitat de Balamand a Dubai (Emirats Àrabs Units) l'any 2017. A més, el Prof. EL ZAKHEM va dirigir l'equip departamental cap a l'acreditació de l'American Board of Engineering i Tecnologia (ABET). Aquesta acreditació facultativa és un valor afegit per al programa d'Enginyeria Química de la UOB.
El Prof. El ZAKHEM ha dirigit molts estudiants de doctorat i màster. Actua com a revisor en diverses revistes científiques internacionals revisades per parells.
El Prof. EL ZAKHEM és membre de l'Ordre d'Enginyers del Líban i membre sènior de l'Institut Americà d'Enginyers Químics (AIChE).

Professor Henri EL ZAKHEM is the founding chairperson of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Balamand (UOB).
Prof. EL ZAKHEM completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2.5 years from the University of Technology of Compiegne (Sorbonne University Alliance), France (2006). He is a holder of a Master degree (D.E.A) in Food Processing Engineering (2003), and on the other hand, and because he loves multidisciplinarity, he is a holder of a Teaching Diploma in Clinical Psychology from the Lebanese University (2002).
Under his leadership, UOB launched the first Chemical and Petroleum Engineering program in Lebanon. Prof. EL ZAKHEM assisted in the Maroun Semaan Building design, which included 10 state-of-the-art academic and research laboratories complementing the educational programs - BS, BE, and MS. In addition, he prepared and presented the accreditation file for the Chemical Engineering program for the University of Balamand in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) in 2017. Moreover, Prof. EL ZAKHEM led the departmental team towards the accreditation of the American Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) with no Concerns. This facultative accreditation is an added value for the UOB Chemical Engineering program.
Prof. El ZAKHEM has supervised many PhD and Master students. He acts as Reviewer in several international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Prof. EL ZAKHEM is a Member of the Order of Engineers in Lebanon, and is a Senior Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
